Crystal Palace, "God Bless Our Queen"

Crystal Palace set piece at the time of the Second Boer War (lancework 200 ft long by 70 ft high). The Crystal Palace was a cast-iron and plate-glass structure originally built in Hyde Park, London, to house the Great Exhibition of 1851. After the exhibition, the Palace was relocated to an area of South London known as Penge Common. Lance - small colored flare tube used in making points of light lancework or pictures in fire. Pyrotechnics: The History and Art of Firework Making by Alan St. Hill Brock, 1922 (cropped and cleaned).
