Helmet. Culture: Iranian. Dimensions: H. 12 3/8 in. (31.4 cm); Diam. 8 1/2 in. (21.6 cm); Wt. 2 lb. 7.9 oz. (1131.1 g). Date: probably 15th century. The inscription around the rim is very worn but reads in part: "He may protect." The helmet is engraved with the mark of the Ottoman arsenal, indicating that it was captured in battle or taken as booty.
