Letter from Anne Boleyn and Henry VIII to Cardinal Wolsey, August 1528. In the upper part of this letter, written at the start of August 1528, Anne sends good wishes to Cardinal Wolsey and asks for news about the progress of Cardinal Campeggio, the papal legate who, with Wolsey, was to hear Henry’s suit for the annulment of his marriage. Anne then handed the letter to Henry and nagged him to complete it: ‘The wrytter of thys letter wolde nott cease tyll she [had caused me likewise] to sett to my hand; desyryng yow, thowght it be short, to [take it in good part]’ . Records and papers concerning England and Rome, 1528–1529, especially concerning the divorce of King Henry VIII of England (1509–1547) from Catherine of Aragon. 2nd quarter of the 16th century.
