'Steward's Court of the Manor of Torre Devon', 1820. Scene of the House of Lords as arranged for the Bill of Pains and Penalties intended to strip Queen Caroline of her tittles and dissolve her marriage to King George IV. Peers are crowded together to watch the entry of Queen Caroline, seated on a black ram with the face of Bartolomo Pergami, the man she was alleged to have had an adulterous affair with. She is followed by Alderman Wood, the Duke of Brougham, Lord Denman and Lushington.
