Two Types Of Rescue Aircraft -- Two types of 3rd Air Rescue Squadron aircraft are shown here. The H-5 helicopter in the foreground is used primarily to pick up downed crewmen and wounded personnel from Frontline areas as well as behind enemy lines. In the rear are SA-16 amphibians which are used in rescuing UN personnel downed at sea. Over 4800 rescues have been made by these rescue aircraft during the two years of the Korean war.
