Servius Sulpicius GALBA Caesar Augustus (24 December 3 BC - 15 January 69) Roman emperor, successor of Nero, the first in the so-called "year of the four emperors"; having lost the favor of the people and the army, he was killed after only seven months of government in the conspiracy of his successor Otho. "Ser. Galba Imp. Caesar Aug. Tr. P.", bas-relief decoration from the band depicting famous people of antiquity and mythological themes, inspired by the medals of the Roman era, carved on the base of the facade of the Certosa basilica of Pavia, a typical example of Lombard Renaissance architecture of the fifteenth century.
