Klencke Atlas. Klencke Atlas. A world atlas, made up of 37 maps on 39 sheets, the Klencke Atlas is the world's largest dimensioned book. It stands nearly 1.8 metres high by 1.9 metres wide when open. The maps of the continents and assorted European states were intended to be removed and displayed on the wall and was said to encompass all the geographical knowledge of the time. John Maurice of Nassau is credited with its creation, and it contains engravings by artists Blaen Hondius and others.
