The Card Players 1890-92, by the French Post-Impressionist artist, Paul Cezanne. Painted during Cezanne's final period in the early 1890s, there are five paintings in the series. The Card Players (Louvre), depicts men playing cards in a cafe. In this version, the bottle on the table, with its gleaming white highlight, divides the composition in two, calling attention to the light and dark tonalities of the dress of the two figures.
