The Nazi Propaganda! on the back of the image reads: "Military base in the gang territory. Since the summer of 1942, the German were not allowed to use the term "partisans" anymore for psychological reasons. Instead, terms like "gangs", "bandits", and "gang combat" were employed. The attack on the Soviet Union by the German Reich was agreed on in July 1940 and prepared as the "Operation Barbarossa" since December 1940.
