Astronaut Harrison H. Schmitt and the Lunar Roving Vehicle flank 'Tracy's Rock', aka Split Rock, or the Station 6 Boulder, during the third Apollo 17 extravehicular activity at the Taurus-Littrow landing site on December 13, 1972. While astronauts Cernan and Schmitt descended in the Lunar Module "Challenger" to explore the lunar surface, astronaut Ronald E.
