Olof Rudbeck the Younger 1732. Olaus Rudbeckius, Junior or Olof Rudbeck (1660-1740), Swedish explorer and scientist, son of Olaus Rudbeck Senior. Rudbeck the Younger succeeded his father as professor of medicine at Uppsala University. His student, the botanist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778), named a genus of flowers Rudbeckia in honour of him and his father. The Complete Naturalist - A Life of Linnaeus by Wilfred Blunt, page 29.
