The first World Anti-Slavery Convention, held in Exeter Hall, in London, England on 12-23 June 1840. The fact that women could not vote or speak at this event prompted the start the women's suffrage movement in the United States. Engraved by Henry Melville after Thomas Shepherd, 1841.
