On the front is an allegorical representation with figures depicting Agriculture, Industry, Art and Science with the associated attributes. They are grouped around a pedestal with the arms of Porto and Portugal on it. On the left agriculture with a scythe, next to Industry with a hammer and anvil, on the right of the base Art with a palette, and Science with a scroll. Attributes include a beehive, a bunch of grapes and a wine jug, a gear, a capital and a bust and stacks of books. In the background the mast of a sailing ship and the crown of a palm tree. Faam floats above it with a flaming torch in one hand and a laurel wreath and palm branch in the other. Above the scene the circular: GLORIA VICTORIBUS. In very small letters at the bottom: C. WIENER F. LISBOA. On the back in the middle a bright sun with the inscription and circular: SACRES E SE MAIS MUNDO HOUVERA, LA CHEGARA {candes). Around it a wreath of oak branches and laurel branches wrapped with ribbon. On the ribbon: INDIA 1498 MONTES DO NILO 1500-1600 AUSTRALIA 1601 BRAZIL 1500. Surrounded by the circular: EXPOSICAO INTERNATIONAL PORTO 1865.
