The Universe is the Cosmic Man. In Hindu myth, the masculine half of Brahma, of whom Satrap is the feminine half. In some versions, Purusha is a primeval giant from whose body the universe was created. In the allegorized extension of the concept of Brahma, Purusha is also the universal spirit or world-soul. In the Rigveda, Purusha is described as a primeval giant that is sacrificed by the gods and from whose body the world and the varnas (classes) are built. He is described as having a thousand heads and a thousand feet.
