Series of twelve koban Shunga with prostitutes in the role of acrobatic firefighters, Series of twelve koban prints showing twelve half-naked women performing acrobatic feats on a ladder. Placed six above each other, the twelve numbered sheets form a parody of similar depictions of firefighters performing breakneck stunts. The inscriptions on the buckets in the second lower print on the left refer to Nakanocho street in the Yoshiwara district - Edo's prostitution district. Below that is the large water barrel that stood at the gate of the Yoshiwara; the gate is on the right. Possibly the twelve prayer cards form a calendar with references to the short and long months., print maker: Utagawa Kuniyoshi, c. 1830 - c. 1835, paper, height 91 mm × width 122 mm.
