UNKNOWN. Grand Hotel Wientjes

UNKNOWN. Travel in the Edwardian era and leading up to the start of World War two was an exotic adventure not many could afford. Without television and radio, Hotels, rail lines, and airplanes relied on word of mouth and a small piece of paper, the luggage label. Luggage labels were applied to the bags of travellers crossing through. Some labels were used as advertising, whereas others just identified where the traveler was staying. This is an example of one of those labels.
