Camarasaurus, a plant-eating sauropod of the late Jurassic Period of the Mesozoic Era (approx. 180 mya). This husky dinosaur had distinctive large nasal openings, which functioned to cool the blood. The teeth were forward pointing and chisel-like to feed on fibrous plants, including the low branches of conifers. They grew to lengths of 60 feet and roamed in herds throughout western North America.
