Secotan Indians Dancing, 1585

Illustration of Secotan Indians in what is now North Carolina dancing round a circle of wooden posts, on the top of which are carved hooded human faces. Three women in the centre are clasped closely together, facing inwards. Painting by John White, c. 1585.
