Turkey, Ephesus-Celsus Library, decoration, directly below

The library of Celsus was build over the tomb of Gaius Julius Celsus Polemeanus, the General Governor of the Asian Province, by his son and grandson in the first half of the 2nd century. The architect was Vitrouya. It was one of the most beautiful structures in the city.
