Dante and Virgil meet the souls of the proud, bent over by the weight of stones on their backs. They meet Oderisi of Gubbio.. Private collection.. In 1921, for Dante Aligheri's 600th anniversary of death, the Istituto Nazionale Dantesco chose Amos Nattini to illustrate The Divine Comedy. The illustrations have been published in 1923.
