'H.M.S. Hood', 1935. Named after the 18th century Admiral Samuel Hood, HMS Hood was the largest ship in the Royal Navy when she was commissioned in 1920. She was sunk by the German battleship 'Bismarck' in the North Atlantic on 24 May 1941 with the loss of all but 3 of her crew of 1418. [Wright & Logan, Southsea, 1935].
