Hendrik Witboi mortally wounded in the fighting at Fahlgras, 29 October 1905, (1936). 'Hendrik Witbois Tödliche Verwundung Im Gefecht Bei Fahlgras, 29 Oktober 1905'. Namaqua chief and resistance leader Hendrik Witbooi (c1830-1905) was killed at Vaalgras, near Koichas, in the struggle against German colonial rule in German South West Africa (now Namibia).
