Sofia and Giulia Ravogli 1890

Orfeo and Euridice opera starring Sofia and Giulia Ravogli 1890-The two sisters appeared together in the winter if 1891 at Covent Garden first in Aida and a few days afterwards in Orfeo in which Giulia Ravogli made her greatest success. While lacking the vocal skill and dramatic genius of this distinguished artist Mlle. Sofia Ravogli by her staturesque beauty and dignity made a success in such part as Helen in Mefistofcle and some others. Her voice was a soprano of considerable volume. A severe illness obliged her to retire some years ago.
