Auriga constellation

Auriga. Stars forming the northern constellation of Auriga (the Charioteer). North is at top. The band of stars that is the Milky Way passes through this constellation, seen as the slightly denser scattering of stars in the lower frame. Auriga is actually the grouping of seven stars at right. The three bright stars at left are the rightmost part of the constellation Gemini. In Auriga, there are four bright blue stars (three on the left, one on the right). The other 2 stars are the orange star below the right-hand blue star, and the bright white star above it. This white star is Capella (Alpha Aurigae, the Goat Star). Auriga is best seen in winter in the Northern Hemisphere.
