Exfoliation in Granodiorite

Exfoliation in granodiorite rock in British Columbia. This type of exfoliation, also known as sheeting, happens when igneous rocks formed deep underground are exposed at the surface. The release of pressure causes them to expand and fracture, and then layers flake off.
