World War 2. Women pilots of the 588th Night Bomber Regiment (later renamed 46th Taman Guards Night Bomber Regiment). The Germans called them the 'Night Witches'. Yevdokia Davydovna Bershanskaya, Maria V. Smirnova, and Polina Gelman. 1941 or 1942. Evdokia Davydovna Bershanskaya died in 1942.
