Boy Holds Police At Bay -- Edward Bancroft, 15, (left) holds revolver against side of William Rowan, 15, as a shield while three policemen take cover behind a telephone pole (right) at end of alley. Bancroft fired five times at police, injuring one patrolman when they sought to question him about a robbery. Rowan, playing in a nearby school yard, was forced to act as a hostage.
