It was constructed between 1530 and 1540 in a similar style than other palaces in the city from that period. The facade originally formed part of the defensive wall surrounding the area where the potters had their workshops. The tower is the only original part of the building. The other part of the house were later built. Since 1921 has been used as a museum.
