Felicia Dorothea Hemans (1793-1835), English poet. Remembered today mainly for her poem 'Casabianca' (The boy stood on the burning deck/Whence all but he had fled). At the Battle of the Nile (1798) Giocante, the 12-year old son of Luce Julien Joseph Casabianca, remained at his post on the deck of his father's burning vessel "L'Orient", the French flagship. He perished when the fire reached the magazine and the ship exploded. Engraving, 1836. (Photo by: Universal History Archive/UIG via Getty Images)
