He is depicted seated, pointing slightly to the right and looking at the viewer. He is decked out on Sunday, wearing a top hat, an earthenware pipe with cap in the right hand, and a brass tobacco box in the left, seated on a masonry bench in front of a wall. The man is wearing brown pants and a gray jacket over a blue-gray smock, a brown-white neckerchief and a top hat. Around the tondo, the panel is light beige with paint keys; top left a sketch of an interior with counter floor. Signed bottom left. The painting is in a gilded wooden frame with a round opening, 1953.
