On the underside there is the image field, which shows a female head to the left. Shown is the head of the goddess Aphrodite, which can be found quite similar on coins. An intimated band holds the hair together above the neck. Above the forehead a crown of hair is clearly visible. The mouth is still indicated in the so-called archaic smile, which gives a clue to the dating of the gem to the late archaic period. The goddess wears a pearl necklace around her neck. Unusual is the framing of the picture with an oval as well as an inwardly arched repeat. The base line is reinforced by dots.
