King-Designate Visits Tripoli State Drive Through the Future Capital of Independent Libya -- In January 1952 the three territories of Tripolitania, Cyrenaica and the Fezzan will become united into one independent state under the rule of King Sayyed ed Idris el Senussi, This will be in conformity with the United Nations decision on the future of these three ex-Italian colonies. Recently the King-designate witnessed ample evidence of his popularity when he paid a visit to his future capital, Tripoli.Tripoli was beflagged and the streets festooned with streamers for the first State visit of Emir Sayyed. June 27, 1951.
