Stele of Theogeneta. Funerary stele of Hellenistic period. From a Greek city in Asia Minor, it features the funerary scene in bas-relief. Below it, the dedicatory inscription: "Theogenetas tis Artemidorou" ("Theogeneta, daughter of Artemidorus"). The deceased is depicted sitting on a seat with a cushion, turning her attention to a smaller female figure, possibly a servant, who offers her a kalathos (basket in which women kept wool flakes for spinning). 3rd century BC. Marble. Height: 57.5 cm; width: 30 cm. National Archaeological Museum. Madrid. Spain.
