The Druze leader Sultan al-Atrash, Qasr al-Azraq,1926.

The Druze are a monotheistic religious community, found primarily in Syria, Lebanon, Israel, and Jordan, which emerged during the 11th century from Ismailism. Druze beliefs incorporate several elements from Abrahamic religions, Gnosticism, Neoplatonism and other philosophies. The Druze call themselves Ahl al-Tawhid, the 'People of Monotheism' or al-Muwahhidun 'the Unitarians'.
