Genuine jazz for the yankee wounded in the courtyard of a Paris hospital for the American wounded, led by Lt. Europe. James Reese Europe (1881 - 1919) was an African-American ragtime and jazz arranger, composer and bandleader. During WWI he saw combat as a lieutenant with the 369th Infantry and led their regimental band. US Army/Signal Corps, 1918 (cropped and cleaned).
