The Pride Of Japan - Now Being Cut Up For Scrap -- The scene on the deck of the "Haruna". Acetylene burners are used to literally out the ship to pieces. One of the the pride of the Imperial Japanese Navy, 39,000 ton battleship "Haruna" has recently been refloated at Etajima near the headquarters of the British Occupation Forces in Japan - and is now being dismantled to provide scrap metal for Japanese industries.
