CONRAD WHITE (original german: KONRAD WEISS)

KONRAD WEISS was born on February 17, 1942 in Laubau/Silesia. Konrad Weiss was a director in the DEFA documentary film studio from 1969-89 and made over 50 documentaries. He was a co-founder and spokesman for the GDR citizens' movement 'Democracy Now'. In 1991 Konrad Weiss received the Carl von Ossietzky Medal and in 1992 the Federal Cross of Merit.
