MEN FIRST ON THE SCENE AT WALES CRASH ENQUIRY TODAY. 16 May 1950. The public court of inquiry into the crash of a Tudor V aircraft at Llandow Airport, Glamorgan, on 12 March, when 80 people were killed in the worlds worst air disaster opened at Cardiff Law Courts today (Tuesday). The machine carried 78 passengers and a crew of five, including an air hostess. There were three survivors. The aircraft was returning from a charter flight to Dublin with suppoerters of the Welsh Rugby Team. The inquiry is expected to last eight days. Thirty witnesses will be heard.
