Second sarcophagus of King Tutankhamen, Egyptian pharaoh of the 18th dynasty (ruled c. 1332–1323 BC), during the period of Egyptian history known as the New Kingdom or sometimes the New Empire Period. King Tutankhamen had four coffins all made of wood. They were decorated and painted with gold leaf. One was partly made of gold. The coffin in which they placed King Tutankhamen head was made out of pure gold and was decorated with stones and colored glass.
