An Australian gold prospector with camels. The use of camels was typical of the men that travelled across vast areas in Australia in search of quartz outcrops, spotting the most prominent outcrops standing out in the landscape from the height of their mounts on the camels, an outcrop would be broken open with a pick to find traces of gold.
