Kenilworth Castle, c1575, (c1960s). Reconstruction drawing of Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire, England s it might have appeared in 1575. Constructed from Norman through to Tudor times, the castle was the subject to the six-month-long Siege of Kenilworth in 1266, and formed a base for Lancastrian operations in the Wars of the Roses. Situated on the River Medway and Watling Street, Rochester served as a strategically important royal castle.
