Over Westminster-Splints for Abbey Pinnacle - Working on one of the pinnacles on the north side of Westminster Abbey, 180ft, above street level, to-day (Wednesday) is Mr. Albert Andrews of Kennington, London.The pinnacle, which is in a dangerous condition, is having to be put in splints to make it safe when the lawns of the Abbey become a Field of Remembrance at the Week-end-far below, crosses can be seen in the picture already being planted.The operation involves the erection of scaffolding to the top of the pinnacle and the securing of substantial timbers around the stonework to prevent any heavy fall of stone owing to a fracture near the summit.
