Nelson's Column (1840-1843). Designed by William Railton (1800-1877), was built to commemorate Admiral Horatio Nelson (1758-1805). Corinthian order and Dartmor granite. It is crowned by the Craigleith sandstone statue of Nelson, by Edward Hodges Baily (1788-1867). Trafalgar Square. London. United Kingdom.
