Muttaburrasaurus reconstruction in Hughenden, North Queensland, Australia. Muttaburrasaurus roamed Australia about 100 million years ago, during the Cretaceous Period. About seven meters long, this ornithopod dinosaur was probably a bipedal plant eater. It had a hollow chamber in its snout which may have been a resonator for loud calls. Based on the distribution of fossils found, Muttaburrasaurus may have been a common and widespread dinosaur from 210 to 65 million years ago.
