ROBERT BROWN

Robert Brown (1773-1858) was one of the most important figures in the history of British botany. Two of his greatest accomplishments were the identification of the cell nucleus and the distinction between the two groups of flowering plants, the Gymnosperms and the Angiosperms. Brown was given credit for studying the phenomenon called Brownian motion. However, there is question as to weather or not he really did.
