Salt formation reaction

Chemical reaction between zinc metal (Zn) and hydrochloric acid (HCL). HCl is poured into a conical flask containing zinc metal filings; the resulting mixture effervesces, with hydrogen gas being given off. A salt, zinc chloride, remains after the effervescence has subsided. Equation: Zn (solid) + 2HCL (aqueous) > ZnCl2 (aqueous) + H2 (gaseous).
