A scrollwork escutcheon contains two shields with a greyhound rampant and a bear rampant, respectively. Two arms rise from the helmet; the hands hold a book. A scroll with the inscription NOSCE TEMET is on top. At the lower ends of the manteling heavy tassels. Ovoidal molded fram for which an interlacement band is is suggested in its top part. Below at right, pen scratching and written "Ca...(?). Verso: Three sketches referring to volutes, shown obliquely and from the front.
