Below it is the crowned coat of arms of the factory, with a decorative area of peanuts on the left. The bulk of the poster is taken up by two graceful female figures with long hair. One is seated and preparing lettuce in a large container; the other has gaze and hands raised. The wavy, rhythmic interplay of lines, with which the women's hair fills the picture plane, made such an impression that Art Nouveau owes its nickname of 'slavery style' to this poster., designer: Jan Toorop, Netherlands, 1894, paper, h 950 mm × w 625 mm.
