EDWIN DOCKREE. Locomotion No 1, York Railway Station, 1900-1940. Locomotion No 1 was an early steam locomotive built in 1824 by George and Robert Stephenson. It was the first steam locomotive to haul a passenger train, on the Stockton and Darlington Railway.
