Triad of Osiris, Isis, and Horus

Triad of Osiris, Isis, and Horus. Dimensions: H. 12.4 cm (4 7/8 in.); W. 10.2 cm (4 in.); D. 4.8 cm (1 7/8 in.). Date: 664-30 B.C.. The immensely popular gods Osiris, Isis and Harpokrates are here represented as a triad standing in a row on a single base. Several loops study the group - one projecting from the side of the base at right angles, and others behind Harpokrates and Osiris: whether they are intended to allow for fixation in multiple contexts, or a rather a more symbolic addition, is a question.
